Who we support
re-plenish supports a wide range of projects that provide nutritious food to those in need such as the homeless, the elderly, people with mental health problems, asylum seekers, families on low incomes and other vulnerable people.
Although in this day and age there is a problem with over eating and obesity there is also a significant problem with malnutrition – often brought about by differing lifestyles. Many homeless people suffer from depressed immune functioning, respiratory illnesses and there is a link between these conditions and poor diets. Drug and alcohol problems can increase this.
Older people can suffer from similar problems because they can’t access good food and dietary-related diseases are becoming more apparent in younger people too.
