About us

re-plenish is a charity run by volunteers, reliant on the help and support of local businesses and local people for its success.

re-plenish was started by a group of Oxfordshire people who could see the benefit a food bank would bring to Oxford. In 2006 a feasibility study was produced which estimated there could be as many as 50 projects who could be helped by a food bank of this kind. In 2006 there were already 20 projects which formed the Community Caterers Network who were supplying in excess of 3,600 meals to more than 800 people every week.

We are now up and running and already helping a wide range of projects. As more supermarkets and suppliers come on board and as re-plenish grows so will the number of people who can be helped.

Charitable aims

We are committed to making a difference. We’ve set out very clear aims about what we want to work towards:

  • The relief of sick-poor living in the county of Oxfordshire and surrounding area, either generally or individually through the provision of grants, goods or services
  • The advancement of education and training for the public in nutritional, food hygiene practice, environmental issues and in the need of poor and marginalised people
  • The protection and preservation of the environment for public benefit by the promotion of waste production, use of recycled products and the use of surplus.

These aren’t just words and aims, these are real issues today and we truly believe that they are important to everybody.
